Friends of Cal-Ore Fish are pleased to invite you to our nineteenth annual WILLIE Derby! Come join us and share in two days of the hottest steelhead fishing that the West Coast has to offer. Our derby dates will place you and your teammates smack dab into the peak time of the run on the Smith and Chetco Rivers. Both of these rivers historically produce ample numbers of superior sized steelhead. Hooking up to one of these silver bullets can be an experience that you won’t forget anytime soon. But that’s the easy part - now let’s see if you can get it to the net! The California state record steelhead was caught on the Smith River in 1976 – it’s time for us to set a new one! 

With your participation, money raised at this event will be distributed to 1) Rowdy Creek Hatchery, 2) A TBD Oregon fisheries project / program 3) The Murchison Family Scholarship Program 4) Smith River Creel Census and 5) Guide Emergency Fund.

Highlights of the WILLIE Derby…

·        Inclusive Package! Three dinners (includes one all you can eat Crab feed), two on the river lunches, two lumberjack breakfasts, two days of guided fishing with professional guides, and initial Club Friend membership fee.

·        Headquarters will be at “Ship Ashore Resort” in Smith River CA. This superior facility overlooks the Smith River and the Pacific Ocean, complete with stunning sunsets. Perfectly situated between both rivers, and for extra recreation “Lucky 7 Casino” nearby.
