On behalf of Friends of Cal-Ore Fish, I am pleased to offer an invitation to attend this year’s Second Annual Klamath Fishing Derby to be held October 9th, 10th, and 11th, 2008. This event was an exciting addition to the other derbies and will help to establish the Klamath River as part of the annual events. Last year the Klamath Yearling program was provided with fish food money based on the money raised at the 1st annual Griggs Klamath Derby.
The Klamath River is one of the best known, historically rich, salmon fishing opportunities on the west coast. The derby will be a unique event with many of the amenities you have come to know and appreciate at our other derby events. The derby headquarters will be at “Motel Trees” in the heart of beautiful Klamath, CA. with all of the evening activities taking place there as well.
You will have the opportunity for conventional fishing, spin and bait-casting as well as fly-fishing. We recommend that you bring your own fly-fishing rod as well as terminal tackle. Fly-fishing guides are few so sign up early for this exciting opportunity. There will be No Measuring of fish (just counting – one fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish!).
We ask that each team member bring one raffle item and each team donate at least one auction item to assist in the fundraising efforts. Remember that the majority of our success at these events depends on quality items being donation for the raffle and auction. If you would like to make cash donations and have the derby buy your auction or raffle items, please contact derby headquarters.
